How to Care For Your Cat

Now I don't profess to be an expert on cat care ~ even though I have two little devils of my own...but decide what type of cat you want first, if you don't already have one that is.

  • Do you have the time and patience to groom a long-haired cat every day?

  • Do you own a dog and want a cat.  Kittens into the home are easier to adapt.

  • Litter boxes come in all shapes and sizes.  Make sure yours is not too small.

  • Litter comes in different types ~ I like the 'clumping' type.

  • Make sure the box is cleaned out regularly every day.   Kitties are fussy.

  • Declawing a cat is up to you, but if it is not - a scratching board is a good idea.

  • Have your cat vet checked regularly.  Vaccinations are a must.

  • Have your cat neutered.  Every 4 out of 5 kittens DO NOT find homes.

  • Groom your cat (even if shorthaired) to avoid 'fur balls' ~ they cough them up!

  •   Feed regularly (the same time every day) and avoid the 'cat meow blues'...
